Re: Permanent Museum Collections
I would recommend the Gulbenkian museum in Lisbon. It has some astonishing artwork and of course the best collection of Lalique jewellery in the world. But it has some breathtaking pieces of antique silverware too, true museum pieces that just never come up for sale any more. The collectors 150 years were very spoiled as to what they could buy, and I guess, in 150 years, they will say the same about us today.
Check out these. Enjoy !

And of course the Louvre has some great silverware, including Roman silverware from the Boscoreale treasure.

Well worth a visit.
