Swedish silver beaker

Post by oel »

Swedish silver beaker. This was sold at auction with unknown hallmarks part of a lot. However are we looking at old Swedish hallmarks?
1) Top left : The Swedish State mark, three little crowns
2) Top right: The City mark for Stockholm(?) 1707 see Marc Rosenberg Lf. Nr. 8454
3) Bottom left: The date letter F for 1694 or 1764?
4) Bottom right: The maker’s mark LS for?
The height of the beaker is 8 cm, diameter top 7 cm and diameter base 4.7 cm.Weight 72 grms
Could one of the experts on Swedish silver please confirm and perhaps tell me the maker’s name. For pictures: http://g.imagehost.org/view/0291/Swedis ... r_beaker_2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

1764 is the date, and the maker is Lorens Stabeus, working in Stockholm 1745-1778.

Hope this helps!
