Date and place this gold kangaroo brooch?
Hi, I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me more about this 15 carat gold brooch I have inherited from relatives in England. The theme is obviously Australian but the maker, Palfrey, does not appear in Kurt Albrecht's book 19th century Australian gold and silver smiths ([Richmond, Vic.] : Hutchinson Australia, [1969]).
Does anyone know of a goldsmith called Palfrey and if so where they worked and when?
