Mother of Pearl Inlaid Sterling Brooch/Pendant

BEAUTIFUL MOTHER OF PEARL INLAID STERLING SILVER BROOCH/PENDANT WITH BUTERFLY MARK

I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the maker of this beautiful brooch I just picked up at a garage sale? It is a round sterling silver silver brooch (with pendant hook) with a nice inlaid mother of pearl design. The back is marked with the Eagle Stamp "4" and a makers mark that looks like a butterfly. It looks as though there is writing in each portion of the butterfly's body (each wing and actual body). I have looked everywhere I could think to look and now I am consulting the experts (YOU!). Thanks so much for any help you may be able to give!!
