Table lighter in silver base, maker? Origin?

Post by sebastian4743 »

Hello there,

I need assistance in identifying of the below table lighter. The insert is made by Colibri (England) but the silver base was made probably in Italy. Does someone know what the 110M mark means?

Hi Sebastian,

Maker is Ganci Argenterie S.R.L. of Milan

They were founded in 1920 and are one of the oldest silversmiths in Milan that are still in business. They moved to their current address sometime between 1935 and 1940.

The marks on your lighter base indicate that it was made sometime between 1944-1968.
