unknown date mark in silver miniature musician

Post by shrivle »

Hi There

Have been looking all over the internet but with no luck.
It weighs 26gms & 3.5cm high.
Has a rectangle makers stamp on the left but is not readable.
Under the lion looks like it may have the II not the 2, but not positive.
The middle one looks like a head profile facing left.
The date hallmark on the right is what i cant find on the internet.

Thanks in advance

In these pictures there is no hallmark of the silversmith (stamp on the left but is not readable.)!
The lion with the II stands for silver (835/1000) and is in use since 1953, but for smaller items since 1962.
The middle one is a miverva head from the assay office in The Netherlands. The D stands for Rotterdam.
The date hallmark on the right is a S for 1978.

The most productive silver miniature maker in Rotterdam in that era is C Stout - his makers mark is CS3
