I have a Ladies pocket watch. I think it could be made in Glasgow but I am a little confused as there are three marks all of the same lion ( I think) stood on hind legs. The top shows purity: 0.935 the lion below is in small shield (very hard to make out it is so small) then row of numbers then two more lions in odd shape mark.
I have drawn around lions because they are so small it is hard to get clear image of shape of mark.In the hope it helps!
Below lions is date letter J.
I have also included makers initials: LF
Sorry about quality but trying to blow up such small marks has prooved difficult. My apologies
If anyone could help me date and pin point where made that would be appreciated.
Trying to date pocket watch
I wonder if anyone might recommend a book that may be able to help me ID the marks on the watch. After posting original post, I continued my research but cannot find anything at all about marks on watch. This has me baffled. I'm assuming it is definately not british, so which book (if any) might help.
Thanks
Paul.
Thanks
Paul.
Your watch is Swiss - the letter J is the city where it was assayed, someone else may know! See http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1471" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
