This knife and fork set (carving set?) are marked JR E * + and P. The handles are bone or ivory. The knife measure 13" (33cm) X 2 1/4" (5.8 cm) at the widest part. The fork measure about 10" (25.3 cm) X 2" (5 cm). Are they sterling or plated? Who is the maker and the year and lastly, should I clean the silver part? Forgive me for all the questions. I am just starting on this silver collection.

Thank you. I looked at that before. I was in doubt because of the extra letter "E" right after JB. Maybe "E" is for electroplated.
