Pelletreau Bennett & Cooke Marking?

Post by modowannab »

I was told this was not a Pelletreau Bennett & Cooke Marking but was wondering if anyone could confirm or deny it.

Because of the 13 in particular, the marking looks like continental silver to me. There's seems to exceptions of some sort to just about every rule in this business, but I personally would not expect your piece to be American. Good luck with your research. There are some extremely knowledgeable people concerning silver worldwide that frequent that site, so hopefully you'll get a better qualified answer than mine.

Silverly's right, that's a 13 loth mark, believe the maker is Peter Bruckmann & Co. of Heilbronn, Germany - maybe mid 19th century? Feel sure more knowledgeable members will provide more accurate information.

Hello, believe Cheryl is spot on: Bruckmann, around 1870, give or take a couple of years. Best wishes, Bahner
