Help Identifying this item - have fixed photo problem

Hi, I was wondering if any one could help to identify this item, any help would be really appreciated, as have been searching all over the web. The hallmark is a little warn. Thank you so much!!

The lower line of letters is up-side-down and reads EPNS so your salver/tray is Electro Plated Nickel Silver. I´m afraid I can't read the letters within the shield except for the "& C", perhaps you can describe them.

Thank you very much, from what I can see the letters look like a H A or H E (can't make out the last letter). Not sure if that would mean anything. Many thanks again.

HE & C hallmark

the hallmark is very similar to mark used by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co - Sheffield in 1853-1857.
