C & B Coin Spoons

Post by castaway22 »

This is my first attempt to use the forum so please bear with me. I have a dozen spoons marked C & B Coin. I have seen some marked Canfield & Brother and I am wondering if this is the same maker and about when they would have been manufactured. Here (I hope) are a couple of pictures.

Welcome to the forum. I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but I will say that if someone told me that your mark was for Canfield & Bro, I would have have a hard time disagreeing. That style of your spoon is in line with their period in business. I suspect that whoever marked this spoon was the retailer. It looks like it is in especially good condition.

For a period that you spoon was made in, I'd say second quarter of the nineteenth century.

If you're interested, tinypic.com is an especially good site to use in conjunction with posting images on a forum. That site has the facility to resize images just for forums.
