Reed & Barton sterling Goblets (12)

Post by redman2 »

There are 12 of these Reed & Barton goblets.On the underside of the base reads -Reed & Barton,STERLING,X115C and the number X115 on another one. I can't find any marks. The goblets all match. I do not have all the goblets with me at this moment so I do not know about possible different numbers on the other 10 goblets.
My question; Does anyone know when these were made?
Goblets have been in my family since 1970.

Any information would be most helpful. I have looked on the web for days for answers but I can't find the info I need.

Reed & Barton sterling goblets (12)

In collectibles on eBay's discussion boards I have asked this same question. I have done completed searches the last 3 months with no results. The nice people on those boards just don't have the answer. It seems no one knows anything about my R&B goblets. I was hoping someone would know something here.

X115 is R&B's stock number for a 6½" sterling goblet, they're usually plain, perhaps the "C" is to designate the chased design on yours. Believe they were in production for many years (may still be), if yours are marked "REED & BARTON" rather than with the old eagle-R-lion trademark and since R&B usually datemarked their holloware from 1928-57, would guess that yours were made after 1957. You might contact Reed & Barton to see if they might provide more information: http://www.reedandbarton.com/Contacts/index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
