First ,thank you for the use of your forum!
I have a family heirloom left to me by my grandmother. She bought it in Germany in the 1940's.
She never told me anything about it except it cost her a lot of money back then and she said it was an antique then. I can't find anything on it anywhere. I have two pictures I hope will be enough for someone here to PLEASE tell me something about who made it , how old and where it was made. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me , links ect...
Thanks Randy

Re: Hi Please, I am in need of help with this Candelabra Tha
Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
The candelabrum; the base metal is most likely made of alpacca and silver plated. H1/2Pr is a code of the amount of silver used for plating the parts of the candelabrum (in grams).
Could the name read; HENNFR for Bracia Henneberg,(Henneberg Brothers), Warsaw, Poland. From 1868. Merged with Fraget to form Hefra S.A in 1961

Hi,
Thanks for the help. I went and researched the information on the individuals you mentioned.
Their hallmarks are nothing like mine. I also did an extensive research on that Alpacca metal you mentioned. Also I forgot to mention , I took the piece to a friend of mine who deals
in rare coins and precious metals. He conducted a couple acid tests in two very discreet locations and told me that he is absolutely 100 % positive it was real silver and not plated. He showed me some fake coins he had in his shop made from a metal similar to the one you mentioned. He gave me a demonstration of fake silver from the real thing. It was interesting how quick that acid he used reacted on fake, and plated silver against a real silver coin and the two tests he had conducted earlier on my candelabra. I really wanna thank you for your help.
I think it maybe another maker though.
I have had the piece in storage for several years. It was almost completely black when i removed it from the box. It actually looked like it had been spray painted black LOL. It took me 4 hours plus to clean it up to how it looks in the pictures and it is still not really clean all the way.
Once again thank you.

Hi Randy,
Take a look at topmost mark. Can you read what it says?

Hi Trev,
The part (Stem) that goes inside the lower "Tower" if you will has a big ' V I" like roman numerals on it but other than that I cannot find any other marks on the top section.
Thanks ,
Randy

Hi Oel,
I looked at it again. Had another friend look also. It has "HENNRI" the last letter could be an messed up E instead of an I but we both agree the first 5 letters are very readable.

Re: Hi Please, I am in need of help with this Candelabra Tha
I am very disappointed that nobody has offered anymore information on my Candelabra. I had it tested again and it was proved without any doubt it is pure silver 900+. I have asked a chemist at Georgia tech and he said H1/2Pr has nothing at all to do with any known silver plating formulas. It is not a chemical make up for any type of metal or plating material. The acid test was a third independent person test and it was absolutely positive for silver of high grade..
I have read several posts and replies here and see you guys are very knowledgeable but do not believe you guys have encountered anything like mine before. Don't feel bad nobody in the Atlanta Georgia area has either. Everybody keeps speculating or trying to guess. I will keep checking from time to time in hopes somebody here will come across something similar with photo proof.
The stamp is " HENNKE" (Commercial Microscope confirmed this.)
If I solve this mystery i'll let you know
Thanks and Peace.
