Help with hallmark identification

Post by AllanMacDonald »

Here is a 5 1/4 inch long spoon with a squirell or a rabit on top. The hallmarks read "LMK" and "Y" and two I cannot make out. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Definitely Swedish. The city mark here is that of Kalmar (a rampant lion with a crossbow, taken from the arms of SmÃ¥land, Kamar’s old parent province) and the date letter “Y” is for 1781. The maker “LMK” is for Lars Magnus Kallerström, active in Kalmar 1773-1814.

Hope this helps!
