Help With These Russian? Marks

Post by dartsil »

Can anyone assist with these marks, first glance it looks very much Russian , however none of the marks contain the number 84.

I have taken some of the marks through a 60x loupe so hopefully everyone can see them ok. One mark I am sure is the mark of St Petersburg.

Looking for origin , age and maker as well if possible.

Check out the French hallmarks.

Bottom left to right; French Minerva head with the number (2) under its chin for fineness 800/1000, I believe it to be for Paris, unknown mark to me(St. Petersburg?) and followed by a French makers’ mark (C- CC C-D with an apple in the middle) in a lozenge.

Forget Russia and St. Petersburg. The mid mark is not a Russian mark. The Minerva head is a French mark actually Paris 1838-1973 as also indicated by Oel. Sorry but the maker is unknown to me.
