Chinese shot cup?

Post by rachelwilsdon »

Hello Everyone,

I have inherited this sliver shot cup, we have some history of it, but we would like to know about the hallmarks.

This cup came back from Hong Kong when William Spillett (Uncle Bill to me) came back to England in 1916 to avenge his brothers death, who had been killed in 1915 during the fighting in the First World War, Uncle Bill had been in the Hong Police, I know that none of this is reverent, but I like the story.

Here are some pictures of my cup, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Oel,

Yeah I did look, and the letters do tally with it coming from Hong Kong, and I have since found out that where Uncle Bill was stationed was on the same road as where the Wing Nam & Co were based so I think that is where the cup came from. I was interested in the other marks, which I know are not very clear.
