MYSTERY MARK ON HENRY MATTHEWS SILVER BOTTLE HOLDER

Post by niceguy1 »

HI ALL

I have this silver scent bottle holder which bears standard hallmarks for Birmingham 1908 & initials H.M. for Henry Matthews, but what puzzles me is the added mark on the left which has 2 digits the 2nd digit is definitely a 4 & the first is unclear but perhaps a 8 or 1. what does it stand for?

Measures 2 3/4 inches tall

thanks.

Hi,

I cannot solve the mystery, just wanted to add that the number is 64. I have a similar bottle with this hallmark. I thought it may be a pattern/model number but your bottle is different so I'm not sure now.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
