C. Zimmermann Ladle? Cross above Crown?

Post by GWF »

Hello there. I have a large ladle that I cannot seem to track down a maker on despite having a name marked on the piece. I found some Zimmermann silver hallmarks, but nothing that seems to related to a C. Zimmermann. There are also three other hallmarks - 18, (then the name), X and finally a Cross above Crown with 1 & 8 on opposing sides of it.

the ladle was made by Carl Zimmermann in Königsberg (crown above cross) in 1865 (year letter X). 18 must be 12 and 1& 8 must be 1 & 2, that means 12 Loth = 750/1000 silver.
