Can anyone confirm my reading of the hallmarks. I think they are:-
England Assay
City - Sheffield
Year - 1850
Maker - George JAMIESON
Hallmark confirmation - George JAMIESON

Hi Dave,
Welcome to the Forum.
Well, you're right with the details with the exception of the maker. George Jamieson had no registration with the Sheffield Assay Office at that time, so that his mark that is struck on the item must be that of being the retailer and overstriking that of the actual maker.

Thanks Trev.
Is there anyway to find out who the maker was or do I need to take it into a specialist ?
