Hi, new to this forum. I have a Silver Tea Set. I've searched and cannot find anything similar yet and I am hoping someone can read what the Japanese Characters say. Thanks for any help.

Re: Need help with Japanese Characters on Silver Tea Set
Welcome to the Forum.
The set is Japanese, the small mark at the bottom is a jungin silver mark. Probably dates to late Meiji (circa 1900).
The cursive writing is very stylized and difficult to read. Most likely one line is the name of the maker and the other that of the engraver (or in this case, repousse worker).
It might be easier to decipher if you can provide close-ups of the marks on more than one piece.
We had a spate of Japanese silver dragon postings about a year ago, if you search for "dragons" or scroll down through past topics in the Far East Forum, you can see many similar pieces.
Regards,
DR
