To add more information: Charles-Salomon Mahler was a flatware maker (cuilleriste orfèvre) working in Paris. This is the mark he used from 19 February 1824 until 11 November 1833 when he was working at 21 cour du Harlay. He continued to work at other locations using a different mark. Initially he was the successor to Gilbert-Nicolas Castel in 1816. Mahler’s symbol, un casque morion or 16th C style helmet, was a tribute to Castel who used a similar helmet as his symbol. Hope this helps.
