In need of finding ID for maker (see photo). Also ID of the purpose of piece.
I have two of these, one with London Hallmarks 1905, the other Birmingham, have not identified the year as yet.
Both are very similar with a subtle height difference and with a small variation in size of top finial.
The makers mark on the London piece appears to be an 'H' with the bottom of the verticals curled round to make the horizontal.

Makers mark and item identifaction
Re: Makers mark and item identifaction
Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
Try to capture a sharper, larger image of the maker's mark.
Embedded images get a far greater response than just posting links.

Re: Makers mark and item identifaction
Could it be JTH over JHM ? for John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton trading as Hukin & Heath. This mark was registered at both London (June 1886) and Birmingham (January 1887) assay offices and was in use in 1905.

I have (what looks like) a champagne bottle top with cork that has the mentioned JTH over JHM. It has a registered No. a lion bottom section has an anchor and the lid has what looks like the letter capital "i" which curves off at the top. Can you help me recognise the maker and give me more knowledge on the item. It is slightly worn and has patina (unpolished).
