Silver spoon background needed - dutch handle
Greetings, I would really appreciate any help with the background of 6'' spoon that appears to have a British bowl ETB / 930 mark as well as lion passant - left facing and few more marks, the handle has lion rampant mark - right facing, as well as EB round mark. Handle has Persian design that I've seen in other spoons. Thank you very much!

Hi,
Images of the marks you described are required.
ETB could be for; Edward Thompson Bryant, London from 1889, known British Importer of Hanau (style) Dutch silver. For Hanau silver and maker’s marks see:

For Dutch maker’s marks see:
http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=28590. Check out; BWE conjoined monogram in double oval for; B. W van Eldik & A.F. van der Scheer also known as Hollandia Zilversmeden, Zutphen mark used 1917/1950.
For more information about Dutch hallmarks see:

N.B. An image of the marks is required before a positive id can be given.

Re: Silver spoon background needed - dutch handle
Hi, thanks for the extra images.
British import marks for Edward Thompson Bryant, could be for 1889 but not too sure about the London date letter being an O. Could you please show us the Dutch hallmarks being; lion rampant (fineness 934), date letter and assay office mark (Minerva head) and of course also the Dutch maker’s mark.
Oel.

Re: Silver spoon background needed - dutch handle
Thanks for sharing those clear images.
First image showing standard mark medium work silver 1814-1953 with export key, mark to indicate 2/3 marking duty restitution upon export (used 1853-1953).
2nd image maker’s mark no positive id, perhaps W1 for; Johannes Petrus Wieling registered in the cities of; Middelburg, Alkmaar, Utrecht & ‘s-Hertogenbosch, registered from 1878-1908.
3rd image Dutch date letter Gothic G for 1891, I believe the London import date letter to be a Q for 1891
Best,
Oel.
