Hello everyone,

Just want to make an inquiry of my newly bought antique silver tray. The tray has couple of marks, lion peasant, leopard head and two other marks that is unknown to me. I'm not sure if this is sterling silver hallmarked, if someone could help me identify these marks, would much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Izy,

Welcome to the Forum.

We've seen that mark a few times on the forum, it is, to my knowledge, still to be identified.

Thank you Trev,

I did some further research about the markings, they are actually silver on copper.
Some Canadian marks also imitate the english hallmarks, these markings are probably U.S. or Canadian imitation. However, I don't know how much silver they put along with copper, this silver tray is very likely to be silverplate.
