WHO IS THE MAKER & WHAT IS THIS?

Post by niceguy1 »

HI

This is another London 1911 piece I’m having a hard time figuring out.

The bottom is hallmarked C ? V with the middle letter possibly being a ‘x’ or ‘&’ or perhaps it’s C pellet V with the V being doubled? The closest I can find is C J Vander Ltd but neither the shape of the cartouche match nor is that a letter J. Also marked Rd No. 563446

The round middle part has a 3 letter hallmark which is partly rubbed but seems to be L C V or L G V but clearly not the same as the bottom hallmark.

What is this round dish? It measures 12 cm wide & 3 cm tall.

I wonder if the maker is John Collard Vickery

HI

Thanks, now i do see the top hallmark says J C V so i guess in the bottom hallmark the j got left out & instead the v is doubled.

But what is this dish/pan?

Matchbox holder at a guess, but it would depend if one would fit.
