1823 Edinburgh, but which maker is WM?

Post by chanson »

Could someone help me identify this maker for a piece of what seems to me to be 1823 Edinburgh silver. I found information about a William Mill, but his WM lacks the crown (?) on the top.

Thank you all very much!

It looks like William Mortimer's mark (Jackson's p.554). What item was this mark from, and could we see a picture of it?

The item is a fish slice and looks in great condition. Nice item. Best wishes, Mike.

Are we agreed that it is William Mortimer? If so, does anyone have any further information on him? Thanks again!
