Could anybody please help me identify the origins of these marks on a large cheese scoop I have. Not sure if these are silver marks, they may be plate, if so apologies and admin please move accordingly.
Many thanks Theoderich, ice cream makes much more sense, I thought it was a bit big for cheese. I wonder if anyone can identify the maker and the age of the piece.
Mind my asking Theoderich but where from have you got the impression that 131/3 would be typical for Norway? The Norwegian fineness are 13 1/2 as from 1608 and from about 1820 13 1/4. As from 1892 830/1000.
I don't think it is from Norway but it could be from Denmark. They have used this 13 1/3 lot. Unfortunately I did not find a mach but only about 50% of Danish marks are registered, sorry. Let's wait for Hose to pop up. He is the expert on Danish silver.
