identify mark & bowl use

Post by carefreedentons »

This looks like a sugar bowl and the color of the enamel led me to think of Tiffany, but the marks do not match anything I could find. The tip of one leg shows sterling, the other the hallmarks and the tip of another the part number. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi ~ welcome to the forums. Please see R. Blackinton & Co.: American Marks - B4 The size would be helpful in determining the use of your item.

Cheryl, thank you for solving my question on the makers mark. In regards to size, the bowl is 1 3/4" tall and 3 1/2" across the top. The bowl depth is 1 1/4". It might be too small for a sugar dish and probably too large for a salt bowl.
