Christofle Albi flatware- sterling or silverplated

Post by rdimca »

Hello,
I am about to purchase a Christofle Albi flatware set and I would like to know if the set is sterling or silverplated.
The photos are not very good; this is the best the seller could do with his camera.
Seller claims the set is sterling.

Thank you for your help.

Hi welcome to the forum,

Without clear images and no visible French hallmarks I would be very suspicious and believe it to be perhaps silver plated copies.
For French hallmarks see:

For Christofle marks see:

Hello, the mark on the fork has the shape of a square, which is typical of French plate marks. French silver makers mark are always in a lozenge. Best wishes, Bahner
