Steamer Maker Identify Need
Re: Steamer Maker Identify Need
The marks are upside down, but looks like Elkington marks to me http://www.925-1000.com/M_Elkington.html
Elkington used a date letter system on their silver plated ware, which looks like an O in a diamond shape and is the date letter for 1853
http://www.silvercollection.it/elkington.html
It looks like the handle is removable, as some of these were, some were not removable, normally twist and lift off.

Thanks for the reply! And the well explation, ha ha... I did not know that the handle is removable, until now :)
Your reply are the best Christmas Gift I have ever received.
I have notice that the Gothic "E" and The "shield 'E & Co' crowned" are the trade mark of Elkington.
The Diamond "o" could be represent as a Time period.
So what would the alphabet "R", Horse Mark , and "1301" possible mean?

Re: Steamer Maker Identify Need
The R I am afraid I have no idea what that is for, 1301 is probably an internal product / part number.
The horse head is a armorial crest (family crest), if you post the photo of that in the "Family Crests" section of the forum, someone may be able to identify it / the name of the family.
