Help ID Celtic Knot Pin

Please excuse the dirt, I just found this old pin in a box at a flea market, and wondered if the mark on it was European. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

This is a Dublin sterling silver hallmark (upside down) with the date letter L for 1997. The sponsor's mark AWC is not known to me.
