French (?) cup

Post by huszas76 »

Hello friends!
There is a cup around 12 centimeters tall.
I think, it's from France, but any suggestions could help!

HI!

For the first mark: A french hallmark (called "Charançon") for imported sterling silver items, from 1919 to 1984, french provincial city
For other marks I would suggest hallmarks from Switerland, may be Vevey for the city.

That's all I can tell...

Regards,

Smoka

Hi,

Just for the record. This mark is called the French rectangular weevil mark for imported silver items from treaty countries, used 1893-1984, minimum silver standard of 800/1000 fineness. The French regional assay office symbol could be for the city of Lille.
