Hi,
Can anyone help with an identification of the manufacturer who used this French plated mark:
Double' - GD - Squirrel
Noted on a pair of large oval serving dishes:
Any thoughts appreciated.

French Double' Mark
Re: French Double' Mark
Hi,
It seems this is an aged posting but..
I wonder if you have managed to get any replies.
We have a simiilar French Item, dish heater with a similar "Doubbl S&H" mark and No "10" sign.
Is "Doubbl" mean double plated and no 10 means 10 micron?
One of the local dealer told me as such, but I am not sure about his expertise.

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
No, we are still waiting for an answer on this one, and no, the '10' does not refer to microns.
See here to understand the '10': http://www.925-1000.com/a_platenumbers.html
It would be good to see some images of your mark and the item, and perhaps starting a new topic with them.

Re: French Double' Mark
At last I have found the answer! The maker was Georges Durant of 75, rue des Gravilliers, Paris.
This mark was entered on the 6th May 1858.
