Hi, first time poster. I love this website and have lurked as a guest for a while. I wonder if anybody might be able to help me out with this teapot. I have an amateur interest in silver but have never had any serious pieces that are not English. This piece has no number signifying grade of silver. The only mark is the large stamp pictured.

After looking again I've found this. I ignored it at first because it's not a number I recognise as being anything to do with silver, but now I think about it, I guess it means 810/1000. What do you think? This is on the hinge on the lid and there's another one on the inside, so a stamp on each separate part of the piece.

The consensus thus far is that none of these are silver but at best, silverplated. In this case, too, I see no reason to believe that these marks indicate a silver standard or silver purity. That said, I cannot read Arabic and perhaps someone who can will eventually come along and translate these marks.
I imagine that the 81 (or 18) mark on both pieces is probably stamped by a hinge-maker in a small assembly-line workshop to ensure that the top and bottom were properly matched up by a second worker who assembled the teapot.
