Hi any information would help, could this be Chinese or somewhere else, i have never seen this mark before, i dont think it is a British hallmark but i'm at a loss, saying Chinese is just a stab in the dark, there is a 90 and what looks like an anchor stamped twice
Thanks
Mandy
could this be chinese
Re: could this be chinese
This is probably more likely to be Chinese than a certain "novelty embossed face tea caddy" with a Mayan face that hails from Peru or somewhere else in South America.
The milk glass (?) base would seem very unusual for Chinese work, but without knowing the dimensions . . . . . And the marks look overstamped or poorly struck.
Without identifying the maker, I would be very hesitant to describe this as Chinese, but this is only one opinion, of course.
