Hi,
I can't sort out the details of the hall mark on this teaspoon which I found underneath, inside some stairs in a 16th Centuary house! I've found it's William Page but I can't find all the marks from the line of hallmarks, in pictures. There's the WP inside it's lozinge(Wm Page), then there's a triangle or arrow with a cross on the top. This is followed by what might be a shamrock or could it be acorns with 2 leaves(tho I believe this is a Chester sign) though it looks more like a pear! Followed by a common sign though I don't know how to describe it! Followed by Rd. As is obvious I know nothing whatever about Silver! We shall put the spoon on the wall in the old house as part of the history of finds we have made as we restore the house. ANY help would be so very much appreciated then for us to add to the display case. I have attached two pictures. Thank you LOTS!!

Hi Silver Queen,
Welcome to the Forum.
There's no hallmark there I'm afraid, the spoon is not silver. The marks are plater's marks only and it is usually the case that they mean little and were applied to imitate hallmarks only.

Thanks,Trev,
Still happy, even though the spoon is not silver. It will still go in the case and with your explanation, as the spoon's still part of the history of this place and contributes to the whole.
Thanks for taking the time to respond and who knows, we may find other things to come back to the forum with.
Kind regards,
Pat
