Hello, I wondered if anyone might have any ideas about the maker of this EPNS set ? The first picture is the mark on the back of the spoon the second the design on the tongs and EPNS backstamp, the third is the spoon, last the set. Looks Nouveauy to me but I know nothing !!!! The more I look at this 'set' the more I wonder whether it is in fact a set. The tongs look older and of nicer quality than the spoons? Any thoughts or help very gratefully received. Shepherdess.

I'm not positive about this, but I think your mark was used by William Briggs & Company, Sheffield, England.

Thanks Pat, I'll go and do some further research on that. It's often really helpful to have a name to put in Google you seem to get far further. Thanks again, Nicky

Hi Pat,
That was brilliant thanks when I dug further it looks as if you were right, the mark is very similar to that of the Sheffield silversmith William Briggs 1875 - 1922.
Once again, thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
Kind regards, Nicky
