Hello,
I've been trying for awhile now to figure out what the story is with these two pieces. I cannot find any information on the 00997 number which I believe is the serial number for the set. If anyone has any advice on where to look such as a book or can help identify them I would greatly appreciate it. They look sterling to me and I believe they are quite old.

Definitely understandable. My iPad was giving some problems before but I think I got it now. Thanks for the advice.

I believe the 00997 could mean the silver quality but still not 100% sure. Any information on this 1847 Roger Bros. pair is greatly appreciated.

They are silverplate, the number is just a factory production code...
