Hi,
Might anyone have some thoughts regarding the possible country of origin of this cigar case?:
The surface has a shagreen type finish.
The case bears no original marks, but recently passed assay at the Edinburgh Assay Office where the standard was thought to be around 900/1000, and thus applied with the not often seen 800/1000 mark.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Country of Origin?
Re: Country of Origin?
G'day Trev
My initial impression when I looked at it was - South East Asian (the orchid design is nicely done), but the symbol (crown/bird) custom added to buyer request? May explain the lack of 'initial' hallmarks. Anyway, just a "shot in the dark".
Cheers

Re: Country of Origin?
Hi,
The sponsor`s mark is Dart Silver Ltd, Grangemouth, Stirlingshire.
They are silver dealers, not makers, and I doubt they import silver.
They had the case marked, but it`s curious it had no marks at all.
Cheers

Hi Waylander,
Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, I think you are probably correct, South East Asia is a likely candidate for the area of manufacture.
Hi AG2012,
Yes, the submission for assay was by Dart Silver. They are dealers and importers, and members of the forum, but this piece was an early one and not a recent import. It was during a conversation with them that the subject of this cigar case came up and as I could offer nothing concrete regarding its origin I thought I would put it to the forum to see if any light could be cast upon it.
