This Chinese Bowl (High 9 cm; Wide 17,5 cm; Weight 434 gr.) has a makers mark that looks like HM and a mark in Chinese characters. Who can it be? Probably not Wang Hing, because the "M" does not look like a "W" to me.
I would not dismiss Wang Hing & Company; a very prolific maker and retailer of all Chinese Export Silver. Wang Hing used various variations of his WH mark and this could be one of them, demaged by the center point(?)
Source; The Collectors' guide to Chinese Export Silver 1785-1940 researched and compiled by Adrien von Ferscht.
Adrien von Ferscht replied back to me; The artisan mark on the Wang Hong mark is Ren An 仁安. It is definitely a Wang Hing mark and stylistically it’s probably early 20th century and made in Hong Kong, not Canton.
