Hi all , i have this old English pattern dessert spoon , only has a single makers mark which i think is JL or possibly JT. if anyone has an idea on the maker would be much appreciated. Thanks James
Actually, I think I may have solved this one - this mark looks like a match for one shown for James Smith (fl. circa 1780 - d. 1828) of Aberdeen (see figure 6 on page 81 of "The Goldsmiths of Aberdeen, by I. E. James).
