Continental Silver Again?!!
Continental Silver Again?!!
Looking at Trev's research...Continental Sheffield Silver Company in 1919 is listed as a Registered Trade Name "(RTN)" only. By 1924, Continental Silver Corporation (of New York) is created [presumably a holding company for the existing assets and likely the same as the organization later called Continental Silver Company, Incorporated]. When partner Mr. W.died in 1921, could Mr. G. have renamed his privately held company as Continental Silver Company (with all rights to the previous trade name CSSC) as a matter of legalities in taking over his partner's ownership share? If CSSC was held as the manufacturing component only, he could then have sold that asset to the new CSC (corporation of 1924), while technically closing the private CSC (company) firm. In short, the word "Sheffield" did not go away due to stigma associated with deceptions, it was just subsumed as a technical matter. (???)

After a long and near useless search of 187 Broadway Brooklyn, here can be found the original 183-195 Broadway Building (a factory structure) which survived: http://hdc.org/hdclpc/hdc-designation-t ... ber-8-2015
