I found this cake stand that has typically South-East Asian decorations.
But the thing I am surprised is that the hallmarks look Chinese.
Someone can shed light on this matter?
Yes, probably Thai, possibly Lao or Cambodian. It was very common for the ethnic Chinese silver makers in those countries to stamp their wares with the Chinese characters for their business name, and often some other marks in the local language/script for purity and weight.
But in bygone years at least, cake was not in their diet. That style of pedestal/stand/bowl was, and still is, used ceremonially for presenting offerings (food, flowers) to the Buddha or a revered person.
