Hi,
The identical mark belongs to Großwardein (in German), Hungarian: Nagyvárad
(Austria-Hungary Empire). Now Oradea in Romania.
Attached picture from Tardy, page 61.
Divided shield, lion and 13 Loth.
From Beschauzeichen deutscher Städte to compare. (``Marks of German towns``).
No confusion with ``German`` for the town in Austria-Hungary.
Those regions were Ehemalige deutsche Gebiete (former German territories) due to many German settlers and their profound influence on trade, craft, way of life etc.
Had you told us where you found it in the first place that would have saved a lot of research.Fortunately, I suspected Austria-Hungary having seen that mark elsewhere. So, it was found where it was made.It was a prosperous town at the time.
