Confused about date on piece of London silver bracelet

Hi everyone
I would appreciate some help with a piece I bought recently which I thought was Victorian.
It is bar gate (I believe they are known as) bracelet and has a padlock clasp.
All very straightforward. The padlock is hallmarked birmingham 1899 but the coins in the bracelet are 1937 and 1940.
Ok, they may have been changed from something else, but when I came to look on the piece itself, one of the coin frames has a separate hallmark for 1976!
I would never in a million years think this was from the 1970s.
Has anyone seen anything like it before? Is it a reproduction of an earlier piece or does anyone else know of pieces like this from that period?

Hi,
Padlock charm was made by Henry Pope,Birmingham, and gate bracelet by another maker in 1976.
In a word,the padlock does not belong to the bracelet (there was no security chain soldered to the padlock).
