Help with hallmarks
Re: Help with hallmarks
There are are some problems with the marks.
1. There is a conflict with the marks. The left mark looks Russian but the right mark doesn't. Couldn't place it in any country.
2. The left mark that looks looks like a Russian hallmark is marked 1865 or 1863. The assayers initials are Л·Б (Latin LB). There is no assayer with those initials in whole Russia those years.
3. The assaying mark is incomplete both the town mark and the fineness mark are missing.
4. There is no maker's mark either. That is more or less impossible with Russian made silver. The only exception is import, but this is hardly that.
All in all, again a dubious case if there are no other marks on the goblet. If there, however, are. Please show them.
