Scottish Silver hallmark ?
Re: Scottish Silver hallmark ?
Hi Robert,
Welcome to the Forum.
Can you post images of the whole spoon, back and front?
The mark on the left appears to be a date letter used at Edinburgh in 1761. Is there any evidence of other worn marks?

The style of the spoon would fit in for 1761.

Re: Scottish Silver hallmark ?
It doesn't look like an Edinburgh date letter to me (wrong punch shape for one thing) - not sure what it is though. It does look as if there may be further marks along the stem. Perhaps a light cleaning would reveal them better (if indeed they really are marks and not simply blemishes).
