Hi -

found a large salver from St. Petersburg 1857. Maker´s mark HH (Lat.) Henrik Hacklin or HH (Kyr.) Nikitin Nikolaj - depending how you read it. PL show the cartousche in an oval (#1365 and #1675) Who is it?

Hi,

Found this mark on my salt cellar and both marks compared from PL.
Similar mid 19th century neo - Baroque style.




The mark is attributed to Henrik Hacklin by Skurlov.

ХАКЛИН Генрих, (р. 1816 г. в Финляндии, ум. 1879 г.), в 1840 г. был подмастерьем в СПб, в 1846 г. СДМ, в 1849 г. имел мастерскую и 5 учеников. Постникова—Лосева: клеймо № 1675.

Still, the attribution is not beyond any doubt because letter H is more similar to Nikitin Nikolai (more distorted letter and very short horizontal line).

Btw. overlapping years for assayers A. Mitin (1842 - 1877) and A, Mor (1831 - 1854).
I suppose the assayer (both salt cellar and tray) was A. Mitin.
But what if the years were before 1854 ?

many thanks for your opinion.

Someone told me this mark belongs to Keibel & Kämmerer. I know Keibel only as manufacturer of enamel orders!









The napkin ring is in my opinion from Katorskij.

Maybe we see some more silver from Hacklin in the future to draw final conclusions about style, workmanship, quality and authorship.

If it`s ``KK`` the Order of St. Anne was made by Keibel & Kämmerer 1836 - 1841, the period they worked together according to the reference bellow.
Another example of their mark on white eagle order mark.




Numismatic publisher Künker

After the death of Emanuel von Pannasch in 1836,Heinrich Wilhelm Kämmerer (1786 - 1854) made together with Wilhelm Keibel the insignia of the Russian orders until 1841.They used the maker`s mark `` KK`` for Keibel & Kämmerer. After 1841 joint production of orders ended and Kämmerer turned to the production of other precious things.

Heinrich Wilhelm Kämmerer (1786 - 1854) fertigte nach dem Tode von Emanuel von Pannasch im Jahre 1836 zusammen mit Wilhelm Keibel bis 1841 gemeinsam die Insignien der Russischen Orden, wobei sie die Meistermarke ``KK`` fur Keubel und Kämmerer verwendeten.Nach dem 1841 gemeinschaftliche Ordensproduktion geendet hatte, wandte sich Kämmerer der Fertigung anderer Preziosen zu.
