Hi -

there is no assayer AC in Odessa! So it could not be Odessa.
Thanks anyway!

Yes, I did not find the AC assayer in Odessa, but I say that the city mark is similar to Odessa

Hi all!

This is really Odessa. AC - unknown assayer in 1836-1840. The maker МИ is also unknown.

Hi -

here an update - I bought the sugar tongs.
The maker is ИЮ - not MИ! Also not in my files.

Great!
The maker is Исаак Юрович (Isaak Yurovich) who worked in Odessa in the late 1830s - early 1840s.

Hi Goldstein!
The sources are Address-calendars of Novorossiya and various sites about the history of Odessa.

Hi Ubaranda -

thanks again!
The assaymaster remains unknown though he was at least for 2 years on duty (as far as I have from him punched objects).
