Cigarette case / St.Petersburg maker's marks AK?

Post by Atlas »

So help would be once again appreciated with identifying the St.Petersburg (1899-1908 / A. Romanov) maker's marks on a cigarette case (, and I assume it is not Heikki Kaksonen / Heinrich Kaxonen ;-) ) if you please.

+ Would also be thankful with identifying the ( from most angles actually quite dark but gives a appearence to blue colour from certain angles) cabochè-stone acting as the opening button?

I would think the cabochon stone is a Sapphire, and although I can't see the vividness and translucence of the stone, you might want to research "Ceylon Sapphire" because this was a large source of sapphires at the turn of the century, it may be a Sapphire sourced from Ceylon (modern day Sri Lanka) ::

Hi,
As far as I can tell, the only AK matching the Kokoshnik in St Petersburg was Alexander Karpov (Александр Карпов).
Except very prominent goldsmiths the push button was coloured glass.

Thank you both for answers.
Regarding to Postnikova-Lodkova I also thought of A. Karpov.
( But regarding to Ivanov's book found quite a few other possibilities as well but since it has quite many mistaken information also, decided to ask opinion from the experienced knowledge of the forum as next step.)

Best regards,
